Sunday. Noon. Pulitzer Prize winner. What else do you need for lunch? Food? Bah; grab a decaf soy latte for now and get some food from Beans and Barley afterwards.
That was my thinking today, at least. Jeffrey Eugenides gave an adept reading from his new novel “The Marriage Plot” at Boswell Books. I can’t remember laughing so much at a reading. Not that all readings need to be funny–but Eugenides knew when to pause and shift cadence and add a smidge of character voice.
